May 30, 2013 – Homeward Bound – #trainspotting#Chicago

Good evening everybody. On the, watertight, 3:55PM out of the City. I’m looking at my people! Beer in hand, I am ready to take stock in my favorite set of co-commuters.

Clive Owen is here. Tall, bespeckled, swarthy looking Clive is listening to his iCrackerBot. He is currently catching up on his Downtown Abbey and Doctor Who, especially the latter as he once was considered for the ninth incarnation, which instead went to Christopher Eccleston. Clive dodged a bullet, as his career took him to Hollywood. Though, nobody is getting excited over a ten year reunion of “Inside Man”.

Harvey Keitel is here. My version is considerably taller and leaner-meaner looking than the theater and screen legend. HK is also working on his portable communications device. Much like the actor, HK is most expressive in the eyes or the “look”. I am guessing he is probably a very nice man. I know that he is married, and he either believes in Christian dogma or is mollifying someone who fears God’s wrath.

Porkins  of Red Team, Rogue Squadron is here. He is evidently a recent hire who comes in early and leaves for this train. It is also evident that his current position allows him to be sedentary, as his center of gravity has a considerable circumference. He is watching reruns of Star Trek – The Original Series and knowing, heart of hearts, he was destined for redshirt status.

I want to sit next to Dr. Jekyll-Hyde one day. Not today. Evidently focusing both (all?) his personalities on reading diffuses the desire to engage in debate over issues of the day. Unfortunately, this limits any inspiration or impetus for me to speculate on the arguments of the day. Also, there is so much to discuss! IRS, DOJ, DOS, Damascus, Benghazi, Kabul, Baghdad, Jerusalem, Columbia, 2014 Midterms, Gay Marriage, Economy. Just a plethora of topics of interest for him (them?) to debate as I translate. Alas, he is focused on his book. “Flowers for Algernon” I think.

Also here are Mary J. Blige, Emma Thompson of “Much Ado About Nothing”, Col. Oliver North, Sir Richard Harris, and a former Soviet Sparrow. All are armed.

Happy Thursday. Safe travels.
