Good morning. On the , humid 8:20AM into the City. The last express. I have a meeting at 10:00 AM, so I was expecting to take the 8:30AM cattle-run. The crowd there are full of stories and imaginative interpretations. In many cases, they will tell you their life story with the simplest act of kindness. Alas, I got to the platform and as this train pulled up, my practical nature kicked in with the old adage “the early bird gets the worm.”
There is a fellow way in the back of the car with the largest and best groomed sideburns I have seen in awhile. He looks like a paler, less buffed version of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, but with brown hair. He also has the look of a leader in the Comicon-Cosplay community. The head fanboy among a legion of fanboys and fangirls. He’s definitely a Marvel guy and NOT a DC or Dark Horse guy.
Also here is an elderly person with a large white wicker cowboy hat. I say person because at first glance, I could not determine gender. Ah. A woman. She looks like an embodiment of Mr. Wilson from Dennis the Menace fame. Oh my. If I’m not mistaken, she’s reading “Fifty Shades of Grey” or whatever that racy, romance S&M fest novel was called. Nice. Mr. Wilson is a playa.
Soledad O’Brien is here. The intelligent, experienced hard-hitting journalist and television personality is on her way to a series of interviews with the local affiliates. There is something more grassroots about going back to local television and talking about immigration issues from the streets. She would be most welcome in the City.
Also here are Mrs. Anwar Sadat, Maya Rudolph, Tom Baker’s grandson, and three members of Pakistani intelligence. All are armed.
Right. Happy Monday.
This meetup today might be a big thing.
