Good morning. On the, drizzly, 7:50AM into the City. Day Three of Shutdown of the mighty US Government. Some say the 113th Congress is providing a wonderful real-life case study in Civics. I find it is more a statement of the effects of the “me” generation. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. I don’t know about you, but I try to teach my children how to lose gracefully. The Tea Party Republicans haven’t learned how to behave reasonably.
Anyhow, enough about that. The Quiet Car is hot. Evidently the old 1970’s cars have static HVAC settings – cold, hot, and off. At least let it be off, folks! A young Desi couple – hey sound like they’re from just outside Vijaywada in the AP – are sitting in the jump seat with me. She reminds me of a dark version of Karen Carpenter, had Ms. Carpenter actually been diagnosed and treated for the bulemia. He reminds me of every average mustachioed Mann I’ve seen on the streets of Hyderabad or Devon Ave.
SRO in the front Quiet Car. Bo Derek is here, standing gracefully in the aisle. She’s wearing an attractive silk print with black slacks. She has a collapsible blue umbrella and a gold lemay purse. Oh, she wanted to stand closer to the exit. Or perhaps she noticed me taking a casual interest and felt uncomfortable. Who knows?
An Amazonian Princess is also here and also in SRO, her raven black hair contrasts well with her pale skin. She has made conservative but elegant makeup choices, such as a peach colored lipstick and little to-no base. She is wearing a leopard-print blouse under a black, bolero style jacket and black slacks. The course is a black Gucci knockoff. I can’t see her shoes.
Also here are four Daichi Power Executives (they are glowing green), three furloughed ATF agents, two Black Panther party members (badged), and Paul Sorvino. All are armed.
Remember to show your elected officials your listening skills and common courtesy, and ask them to represent you in that same spirit.
Happy Thursday. Stay open. Trains are late. Stay Safe.
