On the sardine-packed late-arriving, 8:05AM into the City.
This was supposed to be the 7:50AM. Nobody is happy. Well, that’s not true. Those who found seats are happy.
I am happy. I found a spot in the quiet car jump seat. Nobody wanted to sit in front of the 285lb woman with wispy hair and a down coat that was nouveaux chic in 1979. This woman was also the first one within earshot to chastise the SRO commuters attempting to get closer to the front train car. “It was full before we left the terminal station, so stop being an ass and stand still.” This was said in a voice not unlike Lewis Black, mid-rant.
Janeane Garofalo is back. She is standing right next to me. She’s wearing a black sweaterish thing that doesn’t look warm enough for the -2°F weather. Her unicolored blue jean slacks look very fashionable but not necessarily warm. Oh, she has a scarf. Well that’s some added protection. Her nail polish is very well done. Evidently she and her mom, Sonia Braga, worked on their nails together while chastising absent men. Bastards!
Also here are David Gergen, Martina Navratilova, Jose Feliciano, two Bollywood stuntmen, and Dick Cavett. All are armed.
Happy Thursday. Stay warm. Safe travels.
