On the early-to-rise 7:20AM into the City. The NFI is 3.
I’m in the rear quiet car. I find this spot to be nice this early in the morning, as I am in early and have time to settle into my groove.
If you get a chance, listen to the radio program/podcast of Radio Lab (http://www.radiolab.org). It is an excellent and engaging program where the two hosts go out and research and talk to experts about a single topic, but they apply the scientific method to the topic. Fascinating stuff.
I say this because the gentleman sitting in front of me, one seat over, looks a lot like a younger version of one of the hosts, Robert Krulwich. Our version is an affable looking fellow. He’s wearing an bright red ski-jacket and drinking his morning coffee out of a Styrofoam cup. Evidently our version really doesn’t pay heed to discussions about garbage and sustainable living.
I look up top and I see a guy who looks like Raymond Burr. Our Ironsides is an equally hefty fellow, sporting a black Old Navy number. He is asleep, resting his hands on his grey-blue pants. He is thinking about re-litigating than one case he lost against the LA County district attorney. He smiles in his dream state as he thinks of Della Street getting him coffee and lighting his cigarette. He misses the 1950’s. So do many of the GOP.
Also here are a young Chuck Schumer, the Merovingian, Trey Parker, and Emma Thompson. All are heavily armed.
Happy Thursday. Safe travels.
